We are delighted to welcome you to the American Eagle family! The merger between Wellness Federal Credit Union (WFCU) and American Eagle Financial Credit Union became official on June 30, 2024. This merger blends the best of both worlds, combining our strengths and resources to provide even better products and services. Importantly, your member vote and support were essential in making this exciting news possible. With our rich histories, shared goals, and common purpose, we look forward to a bright future in pursuit of Financial Freedom for our membership.
Since our founding as East Hartford Aircraft Federal Credit Union in 1935, we have grown to more than 180,000 members across Hartford, Middlesex, Tolland, and New Haven counties in Connecticut and Hampden County in Massachusetts. Please continue to bank at Wellness FCU branches. In late 2024, we will notify you about your ability to access American Eagle’s convenient services, including 16 retail branches, flexible hours of operation in our ATM/VTM network, remote deposit capture, instant-issue Debit cards, and online account-opening capabilities. You can schedule appointments with our team at your convenience and receive support through our Call Center. We also provide wealth management consultation and can help our membership understand the nuances of credit reporting and recommend score improvement strategies.
Over the years, American Eagle FCU has received numerous awards for our service and work in the community. For nine consecutive years, we have been recognized as the "Best Credit Union" by the Hartford Courant Readers' Poll. We also earned first place in the 2022 Hartford Courant poll as "Best Community Bank.”
And the list goes on. The Credit Union National Association (CUNA) selected American Eagle to receive the Louise Herring Philosophy-in-Action Member Service Award for our Credit-Builder Program and Simple Checking account. Moreover, CUNA also recognized our Cash Back to the Community Program with the Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Community Service Award for the impact we create in giving back to our local community. In addition, we recently received the ERM Global Award of Distinction from the Risk and Insurance Management Society to highlight the care we take to protect our members' data and information. The Warren Group has also consistently recognized us as Top Mortgage Producer.
